allot of people pronounce Creek

Creek with a long E sound

but the rest of us say

Creek with a short E kinda like Crek

LOL what do you say? Creek or Crek :)

Creek... though my dad says it the country way of Crik. I think it might be the Maryland form...not sure. Depends on where you are.

I say creek. But sometimes when I'm goofing off I say crick.

I'm originally from NY so i say it like EEEK or like Creep or like GEEK.

Same thing with the word "roof". I say it like goof, like dufus etc my boss says it like RUFF and i keep telling him its ROOF not ruff! lol

We have our faults in ny too. I used to say the word Pecan as similar to the word Peeking instead of pronouncing it like PEE-Kahn. When I got to Arizona i was wondering why they were pronouncing it like PEE-Kahn since it sounded so french or like they were exaggerating it. I found out that that was actually the proper way to pronounce it.
