I love how, even though the foremost climatologists all agree that global warming is occuring, and it is directly related to human interference, people still claim that "there's no proof", and it's "just a theory".

One problem with the data you are citing is that over most of the world, the winter was average, not warmer. If Global Gore Warming was true, the pattern should be world wide, not just in certain regions. You need to read the new book by Fred Singer on the fact this happens every 1500 years, no matter what humans are doing. Humans may contribute, but we are not that important.

Yeah, the families of all those that died in the storms up North this past winter are probably wondering right now why we have had such a warm winter.
Look, the earth goes through weather cycles all the FREAKIN time. What's next? The ice age was caused because cavemen used too much hairspray????
Just because Al Gore says something, does not make it a fact.

Umm I have to dissagree, Let me make the point at how crappy it was in June when it was rainy and cold. Its just mother nature balancing things out. Also the warm weather in January was caused by el nino not global warming, and Im sure the people in the far northester NY and over in Denver would love to dissagree with you as soon as they un bury themselves from the feet of snow thier under. Also where I live in CT January was 10 degree's warmer than average, but yet Febuary was 10 degree's colder. As I said its mother nature just balancing out.
If you want to go way back in time to the time of the vickings I can make a point thier. The earth had to have been warmer back then for one very important reason, the Vicking raiders were farming easily in Iceland and Greenland wich today would be near imposible. It was warmer then than it is now.
The earth balances itself out naturaly and we're just on a bit of an upswing now in 200 years they'll all be going oh its the coldest winters on record.

I suggest that you do more research. I agree that global warming is a proven fact and I also believe that global warming due to human activity is also a fact. However, human effect on the weather is almost negligible. The environment is also self regulating and as far as we know, it should be able to take care of itself. As for staunch republicans, I agree that they are completely incorrect and need to take a closer look at global warming. But global warming is also over hyped in the media. There is a healthy middle ground on the issue of global warming, don't jump to far to either side with out solid fact.

You're right about global warming, but your argument is wrong.
It's a mistake to relate any short term weather to climate change. The only way to determine climate change is to take a large number of measurements over a number of years and analyze the data.
That's been done, of course, and the data clearly show global warming is happening and that the main cause is us.
But don't make bad arguments using just one winters weather. Let the other side have the bad arguments.

You know republicans deny anything we (The People) know to be true. The national weather society said this has been the hottest world-wide temps experienced ever, but also the strangest. One day its 90F and the next 50F, the next day 20F, the next 70. And for the person who said its not due to human activity must be the guy driving in the Excursion, chain smoking, and using whatever electric company is cheap instead of the one that uses natural resources.

Global warming is a fact, yes. The statistics you cited show that. But global warming "due to human activity" is not a fact, that is a theory.

So the dinosaurs and cavemen were keeping temperature records?? You base this assertion on 100 + years of record keeping when the earth has been around for BILLIONS of years.
