Where would it be secure enough that you could leave your child alone in the house all day and he wouldn't find the item(s) that you took? Also, you don't have a safe.

My child is the kind that will flip my house and car upside down, shake it up, and flip it over again to find something. He never does give up, I swear. He wil go around the world and won't rest until he finds it.

Not the idea at all. leave it in full view, then check VERY carefully. Nice little trick, leave a hair balanced so if the item is moved, the hair will fall off.

I would hide it in the closet on a high shelf in a large box with other items and it would be to heavy to move or make the child too discourage to look in it.

I have two places that I put things. One is in the trunk of the car, and when that becomes inconvenient I have a lock on a closet door and the attic hatchway. Any closet, room, cabinet, etc. would work as long as you put a lock on it. I have even found decent locks in our local dollar store.

I'd put it in the kids closet, top shelf, under their clothes. You could put it in the freezer, dryer or boxed up with a variety of items marked something really boring (tax papers, old clothes etc.).

In the trunk or an old cardboard box stashed way in the basement or attic with a bunch of other old boxes.

I would put it in a piano or something, an object the child dislikes, and wouldn't be likely to investigate.

I'd either take it to work with me or hide it in their own room -- someplace they wouldn't look for it -- like at the bottom of a drawer of out of season clothing.

You put it in your car. This is what my mom does to me. And, she doesn't let me go to the car alone, just in case I take whatever she took.

Put it in a game box, like a boring board game that nobody bothers to play. Trust me, I would NEVER look there.

Well, the best idea would be to take whatever you took with you. It can be assumed that they will try to find it, but if it is with you, you wont have to worry.
