I am writing a play & am looking for some medical terms that would explain what happens when someone is chainsawed apart.

"dismemberment" is the traumatic removal of arms and legs. Probably the closest term to match the VERY odd question you have. ;-)

lacerations. multiple lacerations and tissue fragmentation should do the trick. Amputation, dismemberment, etc.

after all medical personnel know what it is and do not need to wax poetic every time a chainsaw massacre happens ;-)))

decapitated/decapitation - removing of the head by force (decapitated by a chainsaw)
severe laceration - cuts or tears of the skin causing massive blood loss.
crude amputation - loss of limb by non-surgical means
methodical dismemberment - planned precise amputation of arms and legs
