The honest one. We ask because we want to know if it looks good. I would rather have a friend tell me that the jeans (or dress or whatever) doesn't suit me and doesn't put me in the best light, than to wear them and have everyone think I look bad but not say anything. There's no need to be brutal with your honesty, just say "I like the other pair better"

I don't know about these other people, but if I had asked you that question, I think it would help if you told her that maybe another pair would work better. Go with her to pick them out. That way you are not hurting her feelings as much but she might get the hint that they are not what she should be wearing just now. Make a suggestion such as..." Why don't you wear the other jeans you wore yesterday" or " I think you would look cute wearing a skirt or the (color) slacks". That will boost her spirit to know that you really are paying attention to her style and that you know what would look good on her too!

Honestly, I could care less what you answer though I think you should tell the truth (first of all I'm thin, second, I wouldn't ask such nonsense if I were larger). Stupid questions get stupid answers and this is a question that women should know better than to ask. Self esteem is not something you can get from other people, especially if they have to lie about it.

I would prefer the truth. I think if your response were something like this"your other jeans will always be my favorite they make your butt look so great " I think this is a nice way to avoid the question and make her feel secure at the same time.

Even if she does look fat, you should always always say she doesnt!
Women just ask because they like it when men admire them in their jeans!
Unless your really comfortable with them, tell them they dont look fat!
If a women really wanted to know if they looked fat, they would ask their girlfriends! It doesnt matter what they say because their used to the trruth! If a man called a women fat, it would really lower her self esteem!!!

When women ask questions like that it's called "fishing". Because they are fishing for compliments. If you compliment them they will peg you as a good fishing hole. Which is super annoying and leads to arguements. Just bring it to their attention. Say "your fishing dear. Stop it." They will get mad the first time, but it wil make your life easier in the long run.

No i'm joking, just tell her what she wants to hear, say anything about her looking fat, and thats a no no!!!!

It depend on the female wearing the jeans. If she's fat say "yes", If she has a hot bod say" no way".
