I'm happy that you decided to follow God. The truth is that some people aren't very kind to those that do that. The truth is that if your friends cannot accept you as you are right now, they didn't really accept you as you were before either. They do not sound like true friends at all. I'm sorry if that is hard for you to hear. I know this hurts. Remember, Christ was betrayed by one of his best friends--Judas. He was denied by another friend--Peter. Don't you think he knows exactly what you are feeling right now? Talk to him about it and come to him and know that he will give you peace.
John 15:18-19 says, "If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world--therefore the world hates you."
Christ warned you of this in scripture. You need to talk to you friends and explain that you simply are different than you used to be. Tell them if they cannot accept you as you are as a Christian and respect your choices to not act like you used to, then you don't want anything else to do with him.
If you need a friend, feel free to email me through yahoo answers.

Us Christians can't make those of the world stop doing what they do. However, we can decide who to be friends with. I had to cut two of my best friends loose. They couldn't respect me being a Christian so I had to let them go. Whenever I see them I do speak and ask them how they doing, but as far has hanging out with them, none of that. I chose God over them. How can two walk together except they agree??
Marvel not, my brethren, if world hate you. I John 3:13 Remember they hated Jesus.

If you are a Christian, and you have a friend that goes against the true word of God, God instructs you to turn away from those who do not live according to His word.
2 Thessalonians 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
If a person does not obey God's word as it is written in the KJV Bible, they are going against Him and serving someone else. Religions today changes God's word so that it fits more into life as we know it today. We are not to change the word of God, but His word is to change us.
I have walked away from people I thought were my friends in my life recently myself. It;s not an easy thing to do, but I choose God first above everyone else in my life, including my own family., and they all know this about me. I encourage them to do the same where I am conserned. God first, family, friends next always! Praise the Lord!
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Read God's word daily and He will tell you what is expected of you in life. It is up to you to obey what He tells you.

I think that if they feel free to speak their minds about your Christianity, then you should be able to speak your mind about their atheism. It really shouldn't be a problem, they are the ones who are wrong, not you.
Leave prayers on their answering machines. E-mail Scripture readings, doctrinal statements, white papers on apologetics. Give them books of matches and tell them to get used to fire, they may want to get some practice in before judgment day. There are lots of ways to let them know in no uncertain terms that you are Christian and you like it. And they can't touch the power of God in your life.

A lot of people don't like being "harassed" by others who want to incorporate them into their beliefs. Do you do this? If so, respect their wishes. If not, they aren't true "friends" As far as the nasty e-mails go...dump these people off you list. You have the right to believe any religion you wish to. Good for you.

It means they aren't your friends if worse comes to worse you may have to just ignore them because they will keep it up if they know it hurts you. I am very sorry to have to tell you all this but people are sometimes rude to the Christians because they don't understand. Try to make some real christian friends and forgive the others and you will be good to go!
Good Luck!
I will pray everything works out!

Why should you never see and hear these things? Can you blot out reality? Perhaps if your religion was doing any good for you, you'd have a calmer mind that could see these things and NOT be DISTURBED BY THEM....

It sounds to me like you've changed your personality because of your newly found religion. How sad for your friends. You should lighten up and live and let live.

What religion are your "friends" of? That would greatly help me know why they say what they say!
