a History teacher of mine said the following, “anyone who thinks they have the corner on the truth is probably not going to see the truth and will definitely not learn much more.” What do you think that he meant by that statement? Do you agree or disagree?

I agree.

If you're so sure that you know the truth, then you're going to be blinded by any arguments that disagree, and you'll ignore everything/everyone else that doesn't fit into that viewpoint

One who believes he has the "corner on the truth" is often narrow-minded and not open to varying perspectives. Thus he rarely sees objective truth. The inability to remain objective hinders learning, as an openness to new concepts is the foundation of learning.

He probably means that "know it alls" are blind to other ideas and as a result will not likely learn anything other than what he thinks he knows as the truth. Yes, I agree.
Now.... what do YOU think (because that's what he wants you to do!)
