This is a bone of contention among fellow believers.
Personally, I have no problems being baptized in Jesus' name or in Father Son & Holy Spirit.

I believe just as you do. I have been baptized both ways but I am very sure that it is not the water that cleansed me from my sin. It was the actual shed blood.

Thank Him for that!!!!

On the day of Pentecost they asked Peter "What must we do to be saved?" Peter (being full of the Holy Ghost) answered them "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Acts 2:38 is the fulfillment of Matthew 28:19. The formula given in Matthew was before the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles. If you will notice it says in the NAME not names, meaning there is only one name to be baptized in. Acts 4:10-12 tells us Jesus Christ is that name, "there is none other name given among men whereby we must be saved."

Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

It is possible to be baptized "in the name of Jesus" and it be a valid baptism, provided that the person doing the baptizing agrees with the Athanasian Creed. However, when people chose that wording it's usually because they don't, and so according to historical Christian tradition, such a baptism would be invalid.
