I think it's going out of hand. When you have a freak'n starbucks in the imperial city that's just messed up. Why do we need so much chain restruants? we're running out of space for natural beauty and scenery. why make more CRAP?

Amen. But our civilization (and not just America) has an obsession with "economic growth" in quantitative terms. We'd all be a lot better off if we focused on improving quality instead of quantity.

Besides, Caribou has better coffee! :)

Starbucks would not consider putting an establishment in an imperial city if no one would buy the coffee. Apparently, it's what people want; oh well.
