Doug ~
Johnny and I were at Olympic trials together, he and I became good friends over the years. Unfortunately Johnny has demons that he can not beat. This is now the 6th time that I know of that Johnny has OD and the 5th time he has beaten Death. I know for a fact that everyone that cares for and loves Johnny has tried to talk to him, but it has fallen on deaf ears. He promises and he promises but he always falls back. It won't be long before my friend Johnny goes face to face with death again and as much as I hate to write it Death is going to win.

Thanks for the really sad question Doug. Pray for Johnny, he's lost.

He either gets sober through something like AA, he ends up in prison or an institution or he dies. Those are the 3 options. I hope he can find a way to finally get sober but it is bleak. Most people don't get multiple warnings like he has.

yes! it is sad, tragic, and a total waste of human life! this guy is an addict and needs long term treatment for this addiction. he is lucky to be alive! cocaine can kill you! if you snort, or smoke it, your heart can shut down! tapia has major problems, and is an arrogant man who will never learn until it kills him! any athlete who is caught one!! time on cocaine, or steroids, should be BANNED FOR LIFE, IN MY OPINION! these spoiled athletes ,who collect millions for ONE! FIGHT, then go and s moke up hundreds or thusands of dollars in one night! what a waste! and men like tapia, who some kids look up to, are not good role models! he needs to do the jail time for possession, and stripped of any title, and thrown out of boxing!
