Tajmahal ?? too small a thing

Krishna janam bhumi in Mathura...Vishveshwar Shiva temple in kashi, Ram janm bhumi in Ayodhya... and 1000s of other temples across India... were demolished and mosques built on them

10 yrs before I went to Mathura and when I saw the huge mosque built on Krishna janam bhumi...a big mosque and a small temple which was notional just to remind us ...

I vowed there i will come back here only when this bhumi is freed... and i have not gone there since

I respect and love all religions.. but when it comes to my survival i develop horns and canines and sharp nails

Some where the cowardice of hindus was responsible too

Muslims are not bad as a group.. but when it comes to religion.. the story changes a lot

It always surprises me why people can't differentiate religion and human. It is not right or appropriate for anybody to condemn the religion just because some idiots in the religion are doing the wrong thing. There are also Millions of Muslims in the world who are helping the non Muslims in various causes. Remember that King Akbar was a Muslim when he ruled India. But, there was great peace between the Hindus and Muslims, then. In fact, all these Hindu Muslim problems are very widespread only in North India. If you come down to the South, its a different story. Please stop making judgements on the Religion based on the actions of uneducated, fanatics.

The taj mahal is not a religious place and Indians take pride in it because it is so beautiful. It is part of their history. As for the statues that were destroyed by muslims, I agree they are idiots and what they did was very wrong. You have to realize they dont represent the majority. Muslims are not destroying temples left and right. There are a few idiots in every bunch.

The Taj Mahal attracts tourists and earns revenue for India. The logic of Taliban was misplaced, but they destroyed the statues because idol worship and making idols is forbidden in Islam. The Taj Mahal is a monument to love and not to Islam. Radical Muslims feel that making a permanent structure for a grave is also forbidden in Islam, and they do not do so in Saudi Arabia.
Shahjehan's queen Mumtaz Mahal died in childbirth. Some feel that rather than making this monument, the king should have done something towards making childbirth safer for women.
The poet Sahir Ludhianvi said 'A king taking advantage of his wealth has mocked the love of us poor people.'
Different people feel differently about the Taj Mahal. Anyhow, everyone agrees that it is beautiful and one of the seven wonders of the modern world.

Just because a Muslim built it doesn't mean its a "Muslim monument".

It has nothing to do with Islam.

And destroying the Buddhist statues was wrong anyway.

Am sure the reason the Taj Mahal stands is to attract more tourists.

However those who have appreciated the beauty of it were smart people.

If you destroy any part of culture, it is detrimental for your own humanity.
