THROW the shoes away... they have a bacterial or fungus growing in them causing the odor... happens frequently in leather shoes.... this can spread to your feet.. and thus to your other shoes... clean/wash your feet with antimicrobal soap of some kind.. always wear clean socks.. and have clean feet.....

you probably will have to get rid of the shoes. some shoes just trap your sweat & the lingering bacteria is what causes the odor.
in the future, try stuffing your shoes with fresh newspaper every night. this also works for drying out your shoes/boots if they get wet. the newspaper will absorb any residual moisture, and hopefully prevent the odor.
odor eaters or a powder with similar properties might help as well.

i'm afraid you have to get rid of them, the best way to avoid having smelly shoes is by never wearing them when your feet are wet (even slighly), and try to always wear clean stockings or socks, the odor results when you sweat in them or wear socks that you've sweated in, and once your shoes smell, you can't get rid of the odor. it'll keep surfacing.
for your feet, have a foot bath, place warm to hot water with some shampoo (works just fine) , shake well with hands until you get a nice foam and soak your feet for 15mn, brush your feet with a foot brush or stone (keeps them soft and gets rid of the hard skin) dry well and you can rub them with any foot cream you have, or i use this vitamin based cream, panthenol, which is great for your derm :)

interesting that you also have to choice to throw the shoe out...i would throw the shoes out also i will watch what kind of socks i can wear with them..usually when we wear thin socks not made with cotton we allow the socks to transmit the sweat to the shoe, shoes in turn then hold the sweat time after time and then after some time it starts giving the sweat and related bacteria back to the foot...
So watch what kind of shoes these are and what kind of socks you wear with them.. Avoid buying such soes and stock up on cotton socks or if you can silk (real) or may be thin woolen.
Throwing out is always a solution with getting rid of shoe causing odour!
Throw them far away!!

Get something like sneaker sweetener or put the shoes under UV light. That kills the bacteria that cause the odor.

Definitely through out those shoes! Wash your feet with a good deodorant soap and use spray or powder to keep your feet from sweating. Gold Bond works nice! Good luck

wash your feet with mouthwash and it will cool them and help with the smell even with thick yellow toe nails.
