Parmalat milk is milk that has been sterilized using the UHT method (Ultra High Temperature). It is heated to about 135-140 degrees celcius for a few seconds. This is done so that the milk can be stored for long periods with out spoilage. Most of the milk that we drink in the US is pasteurized, which only kills most of the bacteria.

Parmalat is a brand of milk. They sell gallons of fresh milk in the dairy case, but I believe I've also seen dry milk in the baking aisle.
