How can I use outlook express on my PC?

Question

Very often make an on line enquiry about something - or click on a link and get an Outlook Express page to send mail - but there is never any option to send on the page or by going through file. I've been told that you have to set something up in order to do this. All my mail normally comes through Yahoo.
Suggestions please.

Web pages can either have an online form which you fill in and press send online and it sends an email.

Often, if the web designers do not know how to do that, they can easily setup a send-email button which brings up your default email program which in your case is Outlook. As you do not use Outlook, it will not work.

You have two options:

1. When it comes up, it will have the email they want you to send it do in the To box. Copy it, and open your normal Yahoo page and send it from there.

2. Setup your Outlook Express to send/reveive from your Yahoo account. Officially, you need to pay to get this service, however there's free software that can do it for you if you Google it.

The reason Outlook opens is that it's set to be your default email client on your computer. The link you clicked automatically opens your default client, assuming you have it set up with an account. If you are subscribing to an ISP, that ISP should have provided you with an email account that you can use to set up Outlook or Outlook Express.

If you accessing through work or school and you use yahoo as your primary email, then you would have to subscribe to Yahoo Mail Plus to get POP access. (I don't work for Yahoo so don't think I'm propagating :) ) Anyway, after you upgrade, you can start Outlook Express and set up your account on Express to be a POP mail account. Yahoo would provide you with an incoming and outgoing POP mail address to populate in the account settings and then you can use your Outlook to as the PCs default mail client. When you click on a link to send email to the website admin or like the example you posted, it will automatically open Express, like it does now, but now you have an account to use to actually send it.

This means that Outlook Express is probably on your PC, since it is set as the default when you attempt to send mail via links.

You need to find it in your list of programs and just send the icon that opens the program to your desktop. (generally: right click the icon & select "send to>> Desktop".

You should be all set. Just open up the program from there. If you've never used it before you will likely have a setup wizzard which will walk you through the process.

Yahoo does not give pop option i mean forward option in normal mail account. y dont u start using gmail which gives POP . In gmail if u can go to setting part they will give full details step by step procedure for setting up mail account in outlook and they have small software also which automatically sets the outlook express. you can also use other mail clients like Thunderbird from google.

Best to contact yahoo because they will give you a pop mail (think its pop) address that you will have to put when you set up outlook for your yahoo email account. Yahoo will probably tell you everything you have to do.
