well its a little long but itll help....first plan to be home this day and her to be out. have the kids help if you want. buy real or fake rose petals(whichever is in your budget) and place on the floor in a line to the kitchen...in the kitchen you will have a dinner prepared for your whole family, you dont have to make it,buy it if you cant cook!this dinner must be special so it either has to be her favorite food or the same thing you guys ate on your first date or wedding, tell her why this food is special while you are eating, she will be shocked you remember this, when you are done you can have the kids bring in a dessert from the fridge and serve you two(simpler then it sounds just have it in plates and ready so all they have to do is get it and bring it to you)they can eat with you or not......now when dinner is done move to a comfy spot like the livingroom and if your children can read let them read a special poem to her from you if they cannot then you do it and send the kids to play. this poem should talk about being married and a second proposal(i can supply if you want) she will be shocked and then get on one knee and ask her to be your wife for another ten years...at this time slip a ring on her finger, can get a real gold ring for under $100 and she will not care this is not a diamond BELIEVE ME! thats it and im sure youll be answered YES and you will let the kids watch themselve the rest of the night!!!wink wink good luck

The fact that you have no sitter, then I will suggest the following:
Get her a gift card for "A Day at the Spa" where she would be pampered from head to toe, hairstyling, massages, nails, facial etc.
Order a dozen roses from your local florist and have them special delivered with a card saying "Happy 10th Anniversary" I Love You
Then at home, you order in a fabulous dinner or make somethng yourself, but don't let your lady do one solitary thing. You clean up the kitchen, and then relax by the fireplace and pop in a nice love story video and put your arm around her and cuddle and make her feel like the most special wife in the world.

Not into trinkets and two small girls? Hmmmm... well you know what she WOULD like that wouldn't cost much more than time from you? A nice dinner prepared and perhaps some wine or something just for the two of you after the girls go to bed. Treat her like a queen for the night, flowers are nice too. Get some massage lotion and rub the tension out of her shoulders... could lead to some marital funtimes! Thank her for the life you have together.

I have been one of those wives "not into jewelry or trinkets"!
And we had two small boys at the 10 year anniversary!
He surprised me that morning by getting up and making me breakfast in bed, had hot bubblebath waiting for me when I finished breakfast, had gotten our sons up, fed them and got them dressed. Then he got us all into the car and we started driving from the city to the National Forest area about 40 miles away. He had made two stops, at one of which, he got something and put in the trunk of the car. Come to find out, it was a nice pre-packed picnic lunch!!!! We spent time with the kids playing frisbee, we had our lunch...enjoyed a nice leisurely day. When we got home, he had arranged earlier for a trusted friend of his, to be at the house earlier to let in someone from one of those Chef Services, to come in and start cooking dinner for us. The friend took the kids with them for an overnight stay and my husband and I sat down to a candlelight dinner and beautiful flowers. It was the nicest anniversary we ever had.

A romantic weekend in New England in the fall is really nice for starters. (No kids).
Women like jewelry, but it doesn't have to be ostentatious or large. A small gold dove on a chain, or a locket with your kids pictures in it.
A day at the spa, while you watch the kids, if she's into that.
If she likes girly things, treat her and two of her friends to make-overs and lunch. She has time to chit-chat and get pretty for YOU.
Lingerie is always nice. Do not buy the freaky-deaky stuff for your wife, unless she wants the whips and chains.
A nice leather handbag with a $500 visa gift card for her to spend on what ever she wants on the inside of it.
You should know what your wife's preferences are after ten years, pick something. Good Luck. I'm going on 8 years this year, hope to get to 10 in one piece. LOL. :-)

How about a dinner, cooked by you! A nice combo of the things she likes. A good chocolate dessert. Store bought is fine. Get a card! Tell her how much she means to you in the card. Then after the kids go to bed, show her!!!!!! Women just want to be loved!!!! Let the girls help with the dinner. Make a nice salad too. I think it is great you want to do something nice for her. Good Luck and Congratulations!

Check you local Hallmark store or other gift shop, look for Willow-tree - they have several different statues of couples, very sentimental. Surely she would have a special place she would keep this to remind her of your love for her. They average about $20.
Is there a place in your yard, hopefully near a window she looks out frequently where you could plan her a beautiful Rose bush?
Does she like music? Make her a compilation CD of all "your" songs - or her very favorites. No PC or CD burner ask a friend to help.
Make a photo album with pictures of your life over the last 10 years - try to be chronological, and write special notes about your fond memories.
Congratulations and good luck!!

If she wears a wedding band, get her an anniversary band. My husband got me a modest one, around $100 with teeny diamonds, in a chevron shape (a "V") which fits nicely under my wedding band. Don't say she isn't into jewellery - every woman wants symbolic gestures.
Make a nice meal with your girls for your wife, and have the family celebrate together. We have always done this, we never go out on our own; family is better.

Buy her ten inexpensive but sentimental presents, perhaps a little teddy that says I love you, a mug that says I love you, a scented artificial rose that says I love you, a bracelet inscribed with the words I love you I am sure you have got the idea now. Wrap all ten gifts individually and attach an anniversary card to each one with your thoughts of how you love her and what she means to you. Give all ten to her at once. And tell her she can only open them one per day beginning , ten days from your anniversary. the last would be opened on the morning of your anniversary, the suspense alone would almost kill her. its not how expensive the gift is that women appreciate,at least the honest and sincere ones, but the fact that you remembered and went to a lot of trouble to get the gift, remember how you felt when your five year old daughter brough breakfast to you in bed? You ate it with love, eggshell and all

I am not sure what your wife is into, but most women would love a day of pampering, so buy her a gift certificate to a spa for a massage, facial, manicure, and pedicre. You could get takeout from her favorite restaurant and set up a nice dinner for two after the kids are asleep. If she isn't into the spa you could get her some lingerie or you could do both. Good luck and congrats!!!!
