If you were on an island that produced a single edible food: papaya would give you everything you'd need to survive.
Pizza with some strategic toppings would do the same thing.
And manna, what the Jews ate while fleeing Egypt to the promised land, that would be best - what would be better than food from God himself?

Spinach.
Calorie for calorie, leafy green vegetables like spinach with its delicate texture and jade green color provide more nutrients than any other food. Although spinach is available throughout the year, its season runs from March through May and from September through October when it is the freshest, has the best flavor and is most readily available

Without a doubt soup is my best food.
Normally I'm not a huge fan of vegetables and only eat them because I have too but with soup you can put in all sorts and you don't even know it's there!
It's quick to eat and you don't have to chew it.
I do hate it when it burns your tongue though !

Meat: Chicken breast - bake, roast, stir fry etc.
Veg: Broccoli - fesh, steamed, baked, roasted. And all the vitamin and mineral goodness it gives you.
Fruit: Apple - fibre, natural sugars, the freshness.

Taste, health, etc...
If I can be pretty general, I would say sushi. Healthy, and I'll never ever get tired of it. (Actually, I'm craving it right now, so I'm probably a bit biased...)
But I know a few nutritionists who would say quinoa.
