The weight of water is equal to the density of water times the volume of water.

Weight = (Weight density)(Volume)

Density of water = 8.3 lb./gallon

So the weight of 5 gallons of water is:
Weight = (8.3 lb. / gallon) (5 gallons) = 41.5 pounds.
