Has anyone tried or read the Book by Kevin Trudeau? Weight Loss Cure Book? I want to buy it but want to know if it's a crock. How does it work? What's the trick?

As a Holistic Healer, I read everything I can get so I know what's being discussed. I cringe when I have to pay money for any of Kevin Trudeau's books. He is giving holistic healing a bad name!

I don't even know where to begin with this book, but if you're a fan of Trudeau's, you will see what a hypocrite this man is. I have been beating my head against the wall trying to explain to people how we can not get all our nutrition from the food we eat. At one time we could, but now it's not possible - mainly because we have depleted our soil. It doesn't matter if you grow organic or not. The nutrition that was in the soil at one time is gone. On top of that, we don't expend the energy we use to, so we can't eat nearly as much without gaining a ton. But Trudeau told people vitamins and supplements were bad for them and people took that as gospel. Now he's saying you have to take supplements! Does he forget what he's already written?

I was up late last night, flipping through the channels, when I came across Trudeau. He was talking about his weight loss cure book. He was saying how he lost over 45 lbs and he was eating real ice cream with real hot fudge and baked potatoes with real butter and sour cream. These are the things he told people previously not to touch. He wouldn't let them pass his lips. When you go to a restaurant, you have the right to ask how your food is being cooked and what is being put on it... yada, yada, yada.

He's counting on people having a short memory. Ironic, one of his first ventures was improving your memory... I guess he didn't follow his own advice.

Yes, in my opinion, there is more to losing weight than cutting calories. That's the problem with Trudeau, there is a grain of fact in what is writes. But there are better sources. Find a book written by a reputable doctor. Perferably one who specializes in weight loss. And remember, ANYONE can write a book, build a website, pay for an infomercial. I don't know a thing about installing electricity in my home, but I can read a book about it and then write a book or build a website with my own 2 cents added in, and who's going to stop me. If I market it right, it will sell. Does that mean I knew what I was doing? Absolutely not! Don't take the first thing you come across as fact. Read, compare, see what works best for you.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

My boss got a few copies of The Weight Loss cure to sell online. I purchased a few from her to sell on my personal site and ebay. While skimming over it (I don't sell anything that I don't believe in.) I got hooked.

There are some excellent suggestions in this book, some of which I have already used to loose over 20 pounds this year! I reached that point where the weight loss pretty much stopped, so I added a few more tips from this book earlier this week and have already lost another 3.6 pounds.

I am currently in the process of breaking the suggestions from Phase 1 of this book (there are 4 phases) into 3 categories: "Cheap and Easy", "Willing To Spend A Little", and "Gonna Go Way Out Of My Way."

For my personal use, I am mainly focussing on the "Cheap and Easy" ones. These are suggestions such as drink 1/2 - 1 gallons of water per day, get enough sleep, don't eat much after 6pm, etc... It also tells which foods are good for dieting.

There are several supplements suggested in this book. These aren't your average dangerous diet pills. Instead they are healthy stuff like calcium supplements and internal cleansing.

The suggestions that I consider to be "Gonna Go Out Of My Way" include doctor's visits and injections. I have heard that these work great for some people, but I personally don't have the time or the money.

So to answer your questions:

Has anyone tried or read this book?
Yes. I and a few other people I know have read and discussed it.

How does it work?
There are plenty of great suggestions in this book. I suggest that you select the ones that work best with your lifestyle and see where they take you.

What's the trick?
Just owning the book isn't going to get rid of the pounds for you. You have to read (or at least skim over) it and put the knowledge you gain to good use.
