distilled water is a more pure form of water without sodium, minerals, etc. A disadvantage is that distilled water is not flouridated.

There are some people who claim that the purity of distilled water can actually leach water-soluble vitamins and minerals from your system. There is some debate as to whether this is true, although if you began running distilled water through your house's pipes, it would leach away the deposits left by the hard water and you might find yourself with some leaks revealed. More than likely, distilled water would only leach toxins out of your system, but you need to make sure that if you are only drinking distilled water that you get adequate vitamins and minerals from your diet, as you won't be getting trace minerals from distilled water.
Distilled water is completely pure water. (When heated water converts to steam, it leaves behind any solutes--the steam is then condensed into pure water. The only possible contaminants would be compounds that convert to a gaseous state at a similar temperature as water.) The distillation process also leaves behind any bacterial contaminants.
As long as you have a balanced diet, (remember that raw (i.e. unprocessed) and whole foods always contain better sources of nutrients) distilled water is 100% pure, although by law, water distributors are never allowed to claim that.
And BTW, your diet should include some salts--your body's salt content acts as a conductor for nerve synapses, a catalyst for many essential chemical reactions, and aid in the proper transfer of fluids across membranes. Too much or too little salt can make your body distribute its fluids improperly. The amount of salt in bottled or tap water is insignificant within the view of a complete diet. When a patient is hydrated, it is done with a saline solution--I think our body fluids are something like 7% saline (check a bottle of contact saline solution).

There are mixed reviews/information about drinking distilled water. I'd always heard (and my sife, the chemist, confirmed) that it helps create free radicals in your body (free radicals help create cancer). Others, such as Dr. Andrew Weil (www.drweil.com) drink it every day, and that's the only water he drinks.
I prefer spring water. I grew up where the water was not fouled by floridation, chlorination, or pollution. It was pure water from the mountains. That has minerals, disolved natural debris, and fish poop in it. It never hurt me or those in my community, and it tastes great. Distilled water tastes flat with no taste except for the taste of the container. Yum.

I drink distilled water with no problems.
I personally think water is water and that distilled water doesn't have the added mineral salts as drinking water.
Also, I believe the argument that it dilutes your internal electrolyte balance is bogus. We get our mineral and electrolytes from the foods we eat, not the water.
I've heard pros and cons...
Distilled water is "good" because it doesn't have the added minerals (salts) that "drinking" water may have. Believe or not. Bottled water has salts added to it to give water flavor while pure H20 is flavorless. Check the labels of bottled waters. They'll list whether they add "minerals" or not. Most do.
Drinking distilled water is "bad" because it dilutes your mineral/electrolyte balance.

right here i'm bragging about Alaska back. the position I stay, the tap water comes out so chilly and is so sturdy that I oftentimes drink tap water. i purchase bottles of water for convenience yet I do drink tap water too. i don't know the reward and downsides yet i do not imagine bottled water is that a lot more beneficial useful. i know many places have fluoride in the water and that i'd attempt to lead away from that. I actually have study that bottled water is not any more beneficial useful and that we are dumb for figuring out to purchase it, yet i'm afraid i visit't bear in options a lot of what the article suggested. LOL i am hoping you get some sturdy solutions; i'd be checking back to study them.
