I want to start walking dogs to help my family save up a little money for a trip. But I don't know much about, how much do dog walkers usually get paid? Don't worry I'm going to do some research online before I start. It's just easier to ask some questions here. How much would I get paid if I walked the dogs for about an hour a day?

In the southeast USA prices start at 10.00-12.00.
It would be a good idea to put up flyers and make you some bus. cards to take to veterinary clinics, pet shops, grooming shops, ect....
If you've ever helped friends out with their pets, you could ask them if you could use them as references.
Yahoo groups section has some great petsitting groups that you should check out and join. You can learn alot from there.

Try this link...and search the word 'petsitters' or 'dog walkers'

Have fun.

It depends, do you live in a large city, suburbs? Are there a lot of working people nearby with dogs?
For one hour you could make anywhere from 5-15 dollars an hour, depending on those factors. Also, you need to think about what happens if the dog gets off it's leash, is it microchipped? ID tag? What if the dog bites you? Or if you walk more than one, what if it is aggressive with another dog? Dog walking can be a totally enjoyable job but it's a good idea to think over the other potential problems and make sure you discuss them with any potential clients.

Best of luck!

Where I live, in the South, an average pay is 10 to 20 dollars an hour which would include your travel time to get there and get back.
Get some cards printed and a catchy name for your service. Have some references lined up for potential customers. It's good you are researching it, because prices vary in different areas of the country and from city to city.
