There is also a spiritual gift called discernment that allows a person to understand the active presence of spiritual vice or the good use of spiritual gifts.

It is important to use discernment because you need to understand the true nature of something before acting upon it.
Also, it is important to understand the best use of resources, abilities or knowledge to produce a change in something.
Finally, it is beneficial to determine the outcome of choices to discern the value that has been gained or lost.

Discernment: Let's say you have a jigsaw puzzle. You've strewn it all around a table at home. You have the pieces. Discernment is knowing how to put those pieces together.

Why is it important: Because the bible has given us prophecies that relate to "the end of this system of things" or "the last days." Discernment would have you look around and realize that the prophecies apply to our day.

Discernment is a spiritual gift, it is almost the same as reading someones aura, you get a feel of what is right, the truth of the matter. Your basically sensitive to others spirits, knowing by feeling if they are bad or good spirits, they cannot trick you, the spiritual gift giving you By God.

Discernment is surrendering the analytical mind and all it's emotionality for the "mind of Christ" within you, or you could say the Holy Spirit. This is a long process of letting go of our social conditioning and seeking the truth and purity in all action.

Discerment: will let you know if a person is really evil or just having a bad day so you don't look at that person wrong the Bible states that we shall know them by the fruit that they bare you will know good from evil and we have a rightous judgement.

dicsernment means being able to tell if it is God or not when you speak with Him or knowing His voice when He speaks to you in the spirit being able to distinguish His voice from any other
