I did use medical marijuana ( legal in my state ) as a medication for a child with adhd. He was extremely impulsive and I do think it was quite probably an actual life saver for him. He had been on adderral and ritalin and strattera and every other thing out there. There were some definite benefits, but he had some severe and scary side effects ( including heart problems ) .. so eventually we had to stop the pharmaceuticals. The medical marijuana calmed him down enough so that he could at least get through school. Not saying there aren't unwanted effects to the medical marijuana ... like lack of motivation, but I'll take that any day over either a racing heart or complete lack of impulse control leading to very reckless and dangerous behavior. People who say that adhd doesn't need any intervention are people who have only dealt with more mild forms, or are only seeing children who they feel are just "behavior problems" .... well, um, no kidding ! That is the part of the brain that is impacted the most by adhd. ADHD impacts tha ability to use the executive function - the part of your brain that tells you to play by the rules, stop and think, not jump off the roof because it looks like fun, pay attention in class, not run with scissors, not beat people up because they annoy you, show up for work on time .... and all the million other things that keep the world running.

Bowers is not in my repertoire of knowledge. Could you recheck the spelling and possibly re-post or add a comment?
