My cat has been very in tune with my moods this pregnancy.. last night I shut my door in my bedroom which I don't usually do as he usually sleeps with me.. but last night he didn't and I shut the door. At one o clock in the morning he was scratching on my door and I let him in and he jumped up on the bed and stayed there. 1 hour later I had my first nightmare in 10 years... did he know????

I believe animals are more in tune with life, than any human could ever hope to be. They seem to know alot of things that we humans don't have a clue about. I guess the good Lord gave them that ability to survive. So, the answer to your question is, yes, there is a very good chance he knew something was in the forecast. And some people call animals stupid!

Even though animals are more in tuned to us than we are, no, I don't think it was because of the nightmare coming on.
I believe it had more to do with the fact that the cat woke up from wherever he had been napping and realised that you were not there and the door between you was shut.
He simply wanted his mommy.
What "might" have caused the nightmare was the mid-night, unusual interuption of your normal sleep routine.

He might have. I've always had kitties who were good at noticing things like that. And there have been cats in the family who would become very attentive to anyone who was falling ill too.

He may have felt that something was up. I can't believe anyone can go that long without a nightmare, lucky. I have so many that I just expect them every night.

Cats are amazingly intuitive and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he did know.
