A psychiatric doctor told me that there were specific benefits that came from Omega-3 fish oil - what are they?

My son needs to be on a mood stabilizer and I'd prefer to go holistic if at all possible. What dosage would you give a child?

I use and recommend OmegaGuard. It's a pharmaceutical grade omega 3's and uses a low temperature, triple molecular distillation and purification process that concentrates natural beneficial omega 3 fatty acids and helps remove harmful contaminants including heavy metals lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, dioxins and PCBs.

Among other benefits, it promotes a healthy brain, helps with depression and mental illnesses.

Dosage - three daily with meals.

Also, B-Complex ("Mood Vitamin") feeds the nerves and has a profound effect on mental and emotional stability.

The brand I'm suggesting are all natural and contain no aritifical additives or fillers. Unfortunately, a product can be sold as natural and be as little as 15% natural and they do not have to include all the ingredients on the label per FDA.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

Omega 3 fatty acids are implicated in cell membrane integrity, fluidity and signaling within the brain. Omega 3 is therefore a participant in memory, learning, cognition and other brain functions. The observable effects of omega 3 fatty acids are an increase in mental focus and in recall.

You might want to add Phospatidyl Serine (PS) to the Omega 3 to get maximum benefit.

Fatty Acids are Omega Oils.

I work with ADD/ADHD, Autism, etc... and I can tell you that if you heal the gut; you heal the brain.

Fatty Acids are what cell walls are made out of. Fatty acids are the kind of fat that keep neurons sending their signals cohesively. Make sense?

Trans fats are man made oils that stiffen cell walls. That's why there a law suit filed at the Kraft food company for using vegetable and trans fat oils in their foods... because it contributes to disease. They won the law suit and made them change their formula for Oreo Cookies.

Understand?

Fatty acids keep cell walls supple so that their molecular structure can receive antioxidants that snuff out free radical damage.

Trans fats (man made oils in junk foods) stiffen cell walls so that the molecular structure keeps antioxidants from entering the cell and therefore, the free radical damage rusts the cells (premature aging and cancers).

Get it?

Anyway, I have wonderful results with kids. I am helping to wake up autistic kids and calm ADD/ADHD kids down with their own bodies ability to do so on its own with the proper nutritional tools. Doctors do not practice nutrition.

Its brain lube for a healthier through process... Helps patterns, processes, and helps sort both better along with exercise, mineral supplements and nutrition. Like the spectrum of B vitamins...

Eat nuts, fish, get proper hydration and even the right amount of the right kinds of sugar help brain function as your brain needs all of the above to work correctly.

I used to take fish oil capsules. The only side affect is that they soften the stool. So he's going to be using a lot of toilet paper.
