First of all, trust your maternal instinct and go with the one that you feel takes better care of your kids. I personally went with a home daycare. I based my decision on the fact that kids at big day care centers get sick a lot more often and there is more one on one attention on a home day care since the number of the kids are limited. Also home day cares are more affordable. I went to our county's website and pulled out a long list of licensed care providers. I interviewed maybe 10 of them until I felt comfortable with this person. I am so happy with her and I know my daughter gets a lot of attention (she doesn't want to come back home when we go to pick her up!). My suggestion would be to leave your kids (supervised) with her for a day or two and see how they like her and how she handles them.
Good Luck

When choosing a daycare, it is all about preference. If you feel that your child will do better in a larger setting, a center may be a good choice. But if you feel that your child may do better in a one-on-one setting, then a home care would be a good choice. Both centers (Family Child Care Home or Child Care Centers) have certain requirements and guidelines that they must abide by. There is difference between a babysitter and a provider running a daycare from home. A babysitter may not have had the certifications and requirements (i.e. curriculum, menus, mandatory classes) that a home daycare must provide. If they are registered from the state as a home daycare, they are required to have certain inspections (i.e. health, USDA, safety). Many have an open door policy and want as much parent involvement as possible. Whichever you choose it is important that you feel comfortable with the person or people that you are leaving your child with.

I'm sure both are great- but I made my decision based on the fact that in a home setting there isn't really anyone checking up on things, at a daycare there are other workers and parents coming and going throughout the day... I felt it was less likely for neglect of something worse to happen.
I chose a small church run daycare- the kids get the attention they need, are with people I trust... and the same people stay there(not new people every week), it's real moms working there. I love it!

It's hard to say and depends on what you want for your child. If my child was 3 years old or younger I would prefer someone to watch them in my home. That way they could get one on one attention, have a more structured day, take regular naps and play in their own home. If my child was 4 years old and above, I'd prefer a preschool - a lot of preschools have a 3 and 4 year old class, this way they get introduced to a more structured day which might help them adjust to school.
Whichever you decide, make sure you do your homework and find the best available - check references too.

I beleive home day care because their is going to be more attention on your child daycares have alot of kids and not all can get the desired attention needed. However always trust the siiter and make sure they have good references or omone you know really well. Their are too many sad sitter stories now adays!

I think a home daycare is better, because they are more flexible, normally cheaper and the staff is more consistent. I have a friend taht works for a big daycare center and she said that they have at least one new staffmember a week. That is really hard on kids
