I've been on 3 cruises and been to 1 resort. I personally liked the cruises A LOT better. Not only do you get to goto many places, you get to partake in many activities (excursions), you don't have to worry about your meals (for most cruise lines). Only alcoholic beverages and excursions cost you. And most entertainment is free. You'll have a great time! Royal Caribbean is the best in my opinion.

A cruise is a good way to experience different islands. When we first began to travel we took a cruise and than we went back to every island we visited again to experience it by land for a longer period of time. The bad part about a cruise is that it can be very structured. To make the most of a port you have leave early in the AM and than you have to be back at a certain time. You can't go to far because the fear of missing the ship. That was our experience. Always looking at our watch when in port.

Staying at a resort is more relaxing and you won't feel the need to run around if you don't want to. You can explore the island your staying at, in depth. Really experience the culture.

Good Luck. Either vacation will be fun. Enjoy

The answer depends the age of you and your siblings. Resorts I think are the best for people with children in their teens because you do not need to keep an eye on them too much. Its much more relaxing and you have more freedom. I say go all inclusive because there is food 24-7 at most resorts. Some all inclusives are really cheap right now on-line.

Cruises are geared more towards people with little ones of all ages. There's activities for the small children, older kids and the parents. The bad thing is that if your family hates being in one place, the ship is your prison. I have hated every single cruise I was forced to go on.

I have been on a cruise & personally I was not that impressed what I missed was walking on the beach
so you have to ask yourselves what is it you like doing better
plus if there is bad weather, you may not go to certain ports with the ship then your stuck on the ship all day long
most ships have a dress code in effect for dinner time so you may want to ask do I want to dress up or be casual there is cons & pros to both
good luck

a chum stayed at an all inclusive motel in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. She mentioned it replaced into great. i replaced into there those days and that area of Mexico is captivating. The water is heat and the sea does not scent like fish like it does in CA. I additionally took a cruise final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days to the Caribbean. We went to St. Thomas, Grand Turk Island, and the interior maximum island of the cruise line, 0.5 Moon Cay in the Bahamas. It replaced into additionally amazing. The cruise line replaced into Holland usa. for my area, i might choose for the all inclusive motel. The cruise replaced into valuable, even in spite of the shown fact that it did no longer supply me adequate time at each and every of the islands.

I am sort of turned off by the whole cruise thing because all I ever hear about is how hundreds of people get sick with Ecoli and so on ont he ship. Or people turn up missing. I would do the resort. That would be kind of fun I think.
