no. God gave us our intellect and the faculty to reason. We should use all of which God gave us.

The New Testament says that we are to have "Child like Faith." Christians have traditionally interpreted this to mean you accept without questioning.

There are however two problems with this view. First, anyone who's had a child knows about hearing the word "Why?" about a million times a day.

Second, there's the fact that Jewish Tradition encourages children to always ask "Why" to always challenge, to always debate. During the time of Jesus "Child Like Faith" meant you were constantly asking questions.

The Church in Rome is what messed things up. They pushed an interpretation of "Don't question" as a means of maintaining control, and it wasn't until the reformation that large numbers actually questioned the Church.

In short, thinking in dogmatic terms IS a sin, as we are told to do as a child does, and constantly question the world around us.

According to most orthodox christians it would be, but it is just coming from which belief system you are speaking of . For me as a Muslim, I wouldn't consider it a sin to think it other than dogmatic terms, but hey tats just me. If you wan't you can do a search on this site, it has comparative religions charts and speaks upon this matter, thanks for your time, and please consider me as best answer. Thanks.

No. It is a sin to take everything literally and ignore successive revelations from God, clinging onto theological dogmas and man-made institutions.

Sin is when your heart separates from God's will in your life. : )

Some people are more willing to be players in God's unfolded plan than others. : )

If not, I wonder what Martin Luther was referring to with his "damned whore of reason" talk.
