Yes, the irony...
like you asking why "all" people always generalize...:)
People often (but not always) see certain traits in a few other people that belong to some "group," and extend those traits to everyone in the "group." It's rarely accurate, but it's easier than trying to account for every possible variation in a large group of people :)
Peace.

Why could a guy or woman positioned up a query approximately what a definite group does, in the event that they did no longer have self assurance that an substantial portion of that group does it? i would not ask why Christians do "X" till i assumed an substantial huge type, perchance even a majority, did that? What may be the factor?

People in general have a tendency to generalize (wow that's redundant). I think it's actually a learned behavior. Who knows?

You're criticizing people for generalizing and your question starts with, "Why does everyone always....". Should be a standup comic.

People like to put things into boxes. Makes it much easier to form opinions. Kinda lazy if you think about it.

It is human nature to belong. Therefore if you generalize people you are catagorizing. And if you catagozie them, then you can put them in their place. If you put them in their place then you can place yourself outside of the catagory.

...why do all whites, why do all blacks...why do all muslims...sadly, this is what human nature is about! If we were all the same color, the same religion, I am sure, we'd find something to generalize and argue about....

Strawmen are easier to blow up, and I like how you always (always) ask questions like this.
