you could possibly have had the flu before you got the shot and the little bugs were incubating in your body..
or.. sometimes you pick up a different strain..
think of the flu virus like you would a dog..
there are all kinds of different types of dogs.. and there are all kinds of different types of the flu virus
so its hard to make up a vaccine that will get everyhing

Are you sure you have the "flu" there are alot of illnesses that are labeled flu like. Depending on how long ago you got the shot, the vaccine is actaully a live virus, so you could have by chance gotten from the shot. Are you allergic to eggs? That is what the virus is grown in, so if you are allergic to eggs and you get the flu shot you will become sick. feel better!

It depends on what strain of flu you got. The flu shot does not protect against every strain of flu out there. They take an educated guess as to what strains will hit most heavily and use that to make the vaccine. You may have a caught a strain that wasn't covered. Also it does not prevent you from getting the flu it just hopefully protects you from getting it as severe.

There are different flu bugs out there and the getting vaccine doesn't mean you can't get the flu. You just don't get the flu strain you are immunized against.
Are you sure what you got was the flu and not another illness like mild food poisoning, or some other bug?

Not necessarily. You got another strain of the flu that the flu shot did not cover.
The flu can mutate at any time.

No. That means it's working. That is why they cannot give you a flu shot while you are sick. They give you a flu shot so your body can create antibodies to fight the virus itself. That is why they suggest you get one ever year so you are less susceptible to it.

No, that means it is working. You see, that's what most people do not understand... you get injected with the virus so that you're body puts up it's guard and becomes (once you get over it) ... strong enough to not catch it again for the whole flu season.
