Some do. Some don't. The ones who think that atheists worship Satan obviously don't.
"Science dubunks all of your pseudo-scientific theories because all too often scientists skip steps in the scientific method because they already know what results they want to prove" - That is exactly my point about so-called "creation science".
"Why can't I believe in my religion in peace without being harrassed by atheists and called an idiot for not believing my great great grandfather was a squirrel?" First, I get more harassment by Christians trying to convince me to "accept Jesus as my personal savior" than you probably do by any atheist. Second, no one says that your great great grandfather was a squirrel.
"I respect the atheist religion" - There is no atheist religion. That is a myth that Christians believe.

Resorting to ANOTHER cheap insult (against Girl Wonder, who gave you a perfectly reasonable and non-insulting answer) because you have nothing more intelligent to say. As usual. What a surprise.
You don't understand squat about atheism. And no atheists are harassing you. Take a look at the number of questions you post to atheists, and then try to tell us that they're harassing YOU. And they only call you an idiot because you ask idiotic questions, make idiotic assumptions, and do nothing but hurl insults--like an idiot. There are plenty of Christians on here who ask intelligent questions and therefore get along just fine with the atheists on here. If you don't like the answers atheists give you, then stop ASKING. You're obsessed.

I think most christians understand atheism, but some do not. This can be deducted from the questions certain christians are posting here. For example, there are christians who say "there is no atheism", or "atheism needs more faith than godbelieving", or "can you prove there is no god" and such, and these christians obviously have not understood atheism.
Please continue to believe in your religion in peace, I sincerely hope that you are no longer harrassed by atheists, as much as I hope for atheists no longer being harrassed by christians. And thank you for spelling atheism correctly.
(Hey, as an afterthought, by labeling atheism as a religion you show that you also have not grasped what atheism means.)

Because many, many Christians DON'T understand atheism.
If I went right now and asked the question "Christians: Why don't atheists believe in God?", I would get the following answers:
- They're being rebellious.
- They're afraid that God wouldn't want them.
- They had bad childhoods which caused them to hate God.
- They want to live life without having any consequences for their actions.
- They secretly believe in God, but they're just too proud to admit it.
And all of those answers are horribly wrong. The most important correct answer is "lack of evidence", but no one -- or at least, very very few people -- will mention that.
I speak from experience when I say that I've been using this system for almost three-quarters of a year, and whenever Christians try to explain why atheists are atheists, I have found, they almost ALWAYS get it wrong. That's just how it is.

You *can* believe in your religion in peace. If you'd just keep your religion to yourself, as your own belief, nobody would bother you.
Instead, you put posts IN PUBLIC like the one above -- which contains inaccurate generalizations, false statements, ridiculous sarcasm, and indicates a persecution complex. With so many logical, factual, and other errors in a PUBLIC statement, you should expect to have your errors pointed out to you. Don't want your errors pointed out? Then don't post in public. It's pretty darn simple.
You can of course "believe" anything you want to, and so can anyone else. But when you try and state "beliefs" that are demonstrably false or not backed by any evidence as facts, it's perfectly reasonable for others to demonstrably prove that which is false, and to point out that your beliefs are not backed by any evidence.
If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Peace.

The only thing I have seen resembling that is when we say that people can't seem to grasp that atheism is simply not believing in god. And yeah, that seems too difficult for some to get their head around including you because you call atheism a religion.

I fail to understand how you make the leap from atheism to a poor description of the scientific process. You understand atheism because it's obvious. You don't understand evolution though

To actually try to say that you understand when you are not in our shoes and have real way of truly know...is a bit rude. That is like whites trying to say they understand what blacks and others deal with and how they feel. No, you don't and can't really understand and are just acting ignorant in this post.
