Abaddon, a.k.a. Appolyon (please forgive my spelling -- this is from memory).

EDIT: Now that I can access this: Revelation 9:11 says: "And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon."

The angel that had the fifth trumpet.

Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Rev 9:11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.

From my version of the bible (NLT)
I saw a star that had fallen to earth from the sky, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.[a] 2 When he opened it, smoke poured out as though from a huge furnace, and the sunlight and air turned dark from the smoke.
3 Then locusts came from the smoke and descended on the earth, and they were given power to sting like scorpions. 4 They were told not to harm the grass or plants or trees, but only the people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were told not to kill them but to torture them for five months with pain like the pain of a scorpion sting. 6 In those days people will seek death but will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them!

it appears to be satan that it is talking about.. but I don't think that it is the same angel that blew the trumpet... what do you think? I think that one angel blew the trumpet and the 'star' that fell was satan

Apollyon, "Destroyer" in Greek. The Angel of the Bottomless Pit, i.e. Abaddon, "Place of Destruction."

The JW's identify him with Michael. I bet that's the answer you wanted! Owing to the fact that he "stands over" the Pit and holds its Key, and appears therefore to be the "jailor," which would logically be Michael.

Gosh, mythology is fun. So is the fact that "Christians" thumb me down for giving correct answers.

JC, stop this.

I am a Christian, too, and the way you are asking these questions is making the statement true that we Christians are judgmental and opinionated.

You are doing damage to those here who need God, are seeking God.

We are to be ambassadors to Christ. Christ didn't approach people like this.

Are you one of the end time plagues? Is there anyone besides you that seriously thinks you are a real theologian? I doubt it

I'm glad you have all these things figured out. You must be God! Tell us...when will the end be?!
