Do you realize that this world [system] cares about nothing about you, and is run by it's king, the Devil, who desires to see you damned forever?

The proof text(s) for this statement is:

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, [Satan] the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

And the devil, taking him [Jesus] up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

I was an evangelist (internet and otherwise) before most of you were even born. Of course, I don't expect you to respect that-not in this casual age of disrespect for anything and anyone who is good, even the best, Jesus Christ himself-read Matthew 12:34 in a KJV.

A'int he 'understanding' and 'gentle' there, huh?

At least I'm not so cowardly as to block people from sending me email through YA.

You were doing good till you delivered Ghandi into hell.... Don't say who goes up or who goes down....it is not for YOU to decide that. I CAN give you scriptures....!

If you're going to truly try to be an internet evangelist, take a look at the stylings of Jesus, Peter, and Paul...

But seriously, you never ever saw Jesus shoving religion down people's throats, did you?

Jesus met people wherever they were, and helped them with real, physical things that were bothering them. Then AFTER developing a relationship, he brought up the spiritual things.

I think there's something to that example, don't you? Quoting the KJV isn't going to win any hearts.

"I like your Christ.
I do not like your Christians.
Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." --Ghandi

I'd like to respond. In the first place, not allowing email from Y! Answers certainly has nothing to do with cowardice. It has to do with the fact that I have way too many email addresses already, and I don't check my Yahoo! mail.

In the second place, you make an awful lot of presumptions that probably aren't true. First, you've probably made the presumption, based on my response, that I'm one of those evil non-Christians that you're trying to convert, when in reality, I'm a Lutheran who almost became a pastor. I'm well-versed in my theology, thank you very much, and I do NOT need a lecture from you on what various verses in the bible read. Second, I don't dispute that Ghandi is in hell. That doesn't make his quote any less valid for the point that I'm trying to make. Thirdly, I was merely suggesting in my post that you catch a lot more flies with honey than with vinegar. I think that the most successful evangelists are the ones to whom the Holy Spirit enables the ability to develop relationships. You've got to develop the relationship before you can tell someone about the Gospel and expect them to accept it. Merely posting a question on Yahoo! Answers just isn't going to be very successful. God desires a relationship with us first and foremost, and we should be modeling that relationship of unconditional love and unconditional respect as an example of how God loves and respects us.

But instead, you chose to flame me. Thank you for illustrating the point. Blessings on your day.

ps. And I seriously DOUBT that you have been doing this since before I was born. I seriously doubt that you've even been alive as long as I have. I could be wrong, but if I am, you're one of the older people on here. It's really not that important, but please stop making presumptions about me and others on here until you get to know us.

To whom are you directing your question?

KJV's a very poetic book, but the translational value gets a little shaky - so many times over of translating a translation of a translation... not to mention, it's a little hard to understand for most people - literacy rates are decreasing, just look at the writing style considered acceptable in your average newspaper!

I agree with the first respondant to this posting - Jesus had a knack for reaching people where they were. Sure, he made lots of enemies among those who refused to listen, but he was not himself a hostile force. Also, he was not above the "personal touch".

For greater effectiveness in your evangelism, you might consider one-on-one communications over mass accusations, with a little good old "What the Lord has done for me".

If you dont like this unloving wicked world, feel free to leave it. I for one will enjoy my family, friends, life work pets etc. until the good Lord takes me. And I certainly wont let the likes of a wanna be like you try to discourage me. But being the good Catholic girl that I am, I forgive your ignorance and stupidity
