You dont wash your hair. If you do, the braids can get loose and your head wouldnt be able to dry properly and it would even smell. If you DO get cornrows you DONT have to leave in it for 2 weeks. You can leave it in as long as you like! Most people leave them in until they start getting messy. If you feel uncomfortable with not being able to wash your hair, i suggest you not get cornrows done. Good luck.

Hey,
Technically you really aren't supposed to wash your hair when its in cornrows because the natural oils actually help keep the cornrows looking crisp and neat.
But if you feel like you really need to, wash your hair in the sink at a very low water pressure, the shower head is sometimes too strong and can wreck them. Take the shampoo and rub it together in your fingertips first, then gently lather in between each row, there is really no need to shampoo the actual braid because oil accumulates mostly at the scalp anyways. When you are done, gently take a towel and just press it against the corn rows to absorb the moisture, don't blow dry or anything.
Also, if you want, Queen Helene makes this really good coconut oil that you can put on your scalp and the cornrows, that will help them from getting frizzy looking. It comes in a tub and its only like $2-$4. It's also best to wrap your head up at night to prevent frizzies as well! Hope that helped you out!

You don't.
You can try washing the "outside" (the "inside" and "underside" might be too tight). However, water and shampoo was loosen it.
If you want the cornrows, you might have to do without a hair wash until you're ready to get rid of it. No joke.

You can dab your scalp with a cotton ball with a little bit of witch hazel or see breeze to reduce oil, but I would not reccomend trying to "wash" the braids.

Call your hairstylist & ask her but you won't get your hair thoroughly clean when your hair is in cornrows.

Haven't been able to figure that one out or how one could sleep on them. That's why I don't wear them.
Love the look though. E-mail me if you find the answer. I am way tired of the permed, straight look.
