I've learned about buddhists, wiccans, pagans, christians, and even atheists and agnostics. I think the think that is important is that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. what works for one person may not work for another. I also find that there are a lot of arrogant people on here who think they're right about everything and are not willing to change. If YA has taught me anything it is tolerance.

I'll try to be positive. I have learned that there are quite a few people who believe in a literal and inerrant bible. I had heard this was true but had never seen it in action.
I do feel some compassion for these people although they make it difficult. I hope they will be delivered from their ignorance. I don't especially hope they will give up faith just find a more realistic, humane and tolerant one.

I learned an awful lot about Shiriya Law and about how it is being misused by goverments. Someone posted a VERY LONG and FASCINATING article for me and it was an amazing experience. It seems that, in it's true form, Islam is actually very egalitarian.
Here's the article, if you are interrested:

I learned about wiccans (that they are not satan worshipers, or crazy people) I learned about Pagans and how they believe in Gods, and its not that crazy actually....
I learned that agnostics are actually kind hearted people.
I learned that atheist, for the most part, on the other hand, can be really mean!

Nothing I haven't already studied about said religions and belief structures. Compassion comes from my meditation and understanding that all people's behaviors (both perceived as harmful and not) arise due to causes and conditions, are changing and impermanent.

I've learned that too many folks are completely intolerant of the beliefs of others.

I'm sorry to say that my tolerance of and appreciation for Christians has diminished since I've been here.
For a long time, I assumed that most Christians were good, decent people who were capable of using their brains and who genuinely cared about their fellow humans. I'm no longer sure that this type of Christian is as large a percentage as I'd liked to have believed.
I truly wish I had something positive to say here, but I've tried my best not to be insulting.

Ive learned that:
1. Jews arent as nasty as they are portrayed to be.
2. Christians are as naive as they are portrayed to be.
3. Atheists can strike a heluva conversation and feed the dead cells in my brain.
4. Muslims? the women are cool and the men need to read more.
5. Agnostics are somewhat dreamy.
6. Pagans and wiccans are all so interesting.
All in all, they all prove to me everyday that people are so much alike and they dont really know it.
