In NJ you must get a license to procure a pistol. However if you rent one on the premises of the range for use there, this is not an issue. The range may have an age restriction or may require an instructor to be present until you are proficient.

Great idea to learn some safety before buying! Plus if they have some variety, you may find out what grip style and caliber you are more comfortable with as you work your way through the weeks. Money well spent.

It really depends on your jurisdiction.....

The above answer about NY, (at least in NYC, not sure about up state) is correct. NJ has some funky laws. When I made the same inquiry in CT a few years back, was told that renting a firearm was illegal there.

Here in PA there is no shortage of ranges where you are able to rent a firearm, several even have full auto, as is the case in NV.

Again, it really depends on where you are....

they have "unlawful" guns floating round. And no, i don't believe of there are any tiers except those used for sport with assistance from individuals with the licenses they favor. Or police tiers. As for London... crime rates went way up once they outlawed virtually all firearms. I say "virtually all" in view that accessible get a shotgun for wearing use once you've the right licensing. similar way with Australia. As for us of a, I had a wreck-in. I grabbed my Mossberg out of the closet and scared off someone who replaced into in my living house. If that were England or France, you likely doesn't have had a gun and should be useless even as the law enforcement officials were given there.

Yes they rent guns. If you are 21, then you don't need a license or anything to rent. If you are under 21, then you might need to be accompanied by someone 21 and over who is also renting.

in ny it's like this... you can't even handle a handgun with out a license much less rent on at the range... however, if you are under the direct supervision of of a license ffl instructor, you may handle a handgun... the rental part is not a factor..
