How old was you when you got your first tattoo and what was it?

I got mine the day i turned 16 my dad took me to get it he payed for it and all i havent regreted it yet im 17 going on 18 now and plan on having a bunch more i have a pretty good sized angel on my arm praying wit a banner under it that says "jordyn" for my cousin that died

I'll be getting my first one this weekend if it all goes well (I'm 18). It'll be an "MT" (my initials) design I drew up. Its less stupid then it sounds, I have it so the T is overlapping the M, with the horizontal part of the T just above the top of the M. Then the diagonal parts of the M are fairly horizontal, and they intersect with the T so it looks like the vertical part of the T is the middle part of the M. It'll be on my upper back so the symmetry shows up well.Hopefully I didn't confuse you with the awkward description, I'll try to upload a pic to my 360 if I get it done and if I get a camera =D

I got mine at 19 as a bday present to myself because I've wanted a tattoo since I was 10. LOL! It's a small (2") fully bloomed red rose on my right shoulderblade. I got it because my name is Rose. My philosophy is to only get one w/ meaning that I won't regret when I'm 75 years old. I have ideas for more tattoos & all have special meanings.

My next ones to get:
*A heart w/ a little bit of tribal coming off it & either 1 giant music note or a bunch of small notes in the center of the heart (music is my life!)
*A set of handprints w/ the names & birthdates of my 1 year old niece & other soon-to-be niece/nephew (after it's born of course) & then will add if my sisters have any more children
*When I have children of my own I'm going to get a set of tiny footprints with their names & birthdates listed around or underneath.

Also trying to come up w/ something that I can get that sorta symbolizes family. It's going to be a tribute to various family members who have passed on.

I have to be choosy about the placing of any tattoo of course because they have to be hidden for work. (darn!)

What a cool dad! Mine just looked at me disapprovingly and didn't speak to me for a few days.

I was 18. I got a solid black star and the word "luck" on the back of my neck. Now I'm 22 and have 10 tattoos.

I plan to have the star covered up.

I was 22 when I got tribal on the small of my back. Now it's five years later and sometimes I wish I didn't get it. I still really like and get compliments on it, but it's something that I am going to have for the rest of my life and I am not sure if that's a good thing.

I was 18, it is a purple and orange lizard on my lower back. I now have 2, a heart on my shoulder for my father, he passed away Oct 2002

17, it was a birthday present from my parents. It's a butterfly on my upper left shoulder. I got it redone when I was 22 and had a flower added to it.
