well, it really depends on if they had the choice or not.
so many are molested as children, too young to know any better.
When they get older they think that is the way it is supposed to be.
If they wasn't molested and the truely have a choice I think they wait until they are at least mature enough to know the problems that can arise with having sex. These girls are more careful and responsible. Only a few of these girls choose to have sex any earlier than 16 - 17.
Probably 75 - 80 % of the girls that you see as sluts or whores as some would call them were "messed with" as children and can't find another way to deal with what they don't understand.
Girls that you find out had sex before the ages of 15 - 18 has probably been "messed with" by someone. Whether it be a grown man or just another little kid.
Not sure if this was the answer you wanted but I wanted to let you know that not all girls have the choice to be a virgin or not. It is totally not fair to them, but it does happen more than most people are willing to acknowledge.

I'm 18, in college, and I'm still a virgin. I agree with Teirghan on this one. It depends how you were raised. I was raised to believe that my virginity was a gift from God to be given to my husband on our wedding night and I still feel the same way. And most of my friends do too. Of all my friends (will say about 50 girls), only two of them AREN'T virgins. All of them are real cute, they've all had boyfriends, most of them are in long term relationships. If you respect yourself and your partner, you won't just sleep with anyone. It is all a question of how moral (or not) you are.

OK, this all depends on the neighborhood and household income. This is based on personal experience. A girl living in a poor neighborhood is expected to lose her virginity between 6th grade all the way ‘til they’re 22 or something. The higher the household income, the older the girl is. Suburban and somewhat wealthy girls tend to lose theirs in their junior and senior year of high school. Trust me; by personal experience I know that at least 3 girls on my 6th grade class were not virgins, same 3 on 7th grade, and more than 8 of them by 8th grade. Including my cousin who got pregnant at 14yrs. When I went to high school, we moved to a better, gang-free, higher income neighborhood. There, in Home-Room, at least 1 girl was not virgin; by senior year only about 5 girls that I know lost their virginity that year. A total of about 14 of them were not virgins by graduation.
I hope this helps.

My girlfriend is still a virgin and she's 20. We're waiting until we get married. It honestly depends on your morals and upbringing. I know many more girls my age (21) who are virgins then I do who aren't. It depends how their mama raised 'em. My girl was raised right.
