Because we at one point or another let someone's opinion about us determine our self worth. I can't even tell you how many times I have been called pretty or beautiful. But I can almost instantly recall all the times I was teased in school, called fat or ugly. I don't know why it's so much easier to remember the bad things people said about me rather than the good, it's a slow process and i've been working on it for some time now. To date, I am happy with the person I am inside as well as out, and I condone my own mistakes and I learn from them. I don't let anybody influence who I am or the way I think.

There is an explanation for that. We, as girls, get so insecure with ourselves mostly because of the outlandish examples of beauty and fitness materialized in the media by men. They use their imaginations to dream up their idea of perfection, When you put that together with those skinny, made-up, botox, silicon-crazy girls in the media and the fact that we haven't been taught that it's alright to be exactly who we are. It's not hard to see where the insecurity comes in.

B/c you may be going through something that makes you feel insecure. Me I got pregnant and went from 119 to 168 pounds. My skin broke out badly, and I had to quit my job so there goes shopping like crazy and my bf started hanging out more. I became insecure and depressed and didn't know what to due, but that's a part of living. You're going to go through things and you can either fight or be knocked down.

It tends to lead from a messed up relationship of someone who you thought was a bf or gf always put you down and never made you feel like you truly are someone......
Once you go through a relationship of that nature, you tend to feel insecure and it is going to take a man or women coming back into your life to make you feel special again when it comes to a relationship.
i sugggest you look in the mirror and tell yourself each and every waking moment you are somebody and you deserve nothing less than the best things life has to offer and settle for nothing less.

Girls and women are always in danger of being exploited and used for their sexuality for either financial gain or for sex. For this reason some men learn to disrespect women. Having a positive male in our early years, such as a father who values and respects us for who we are can lead us to feel more secure about ourselves with the opposite sex. Learning to respect and value ourselves and to excel in education and financial gain, the way we live and relate to others, can all be beneficial to our security and well being.

Well...probably because:
a. several people i have trusted before have ****** me over again and again
b. that, in turn, ***** up my relationships with people, since i am now always paranoid/insecure that i'll be dumped/left when something feels like it is wrong with someone
c. i automatically assume the worst to prepare myself for if something bad might happen, and then when things turn out ok, im happy
d. because even when i was 4 years old I thought i was fat. which still carries on to this day *sigh*

but thats just me.

Well I'm only insecure because I'm shy and it's really hard if your shy to get uninsecure (if that's a word, hehe) but we most likely take people's statements... and put them into reality. Like for example, "Your fat! Go loser." And then you start getting insecure & try to go skinny.

omg last year i was soo insecure. like i always thought i was fat and was paranoyed about it. i always thought i was ugly, and worried about it i overlooked the guys who liked me and i liked them. i think us girls just have the wrong impression of ourselves. we always want to be someone else because we are not liking our body. but thi year i am not thinking i am fat or ugly. happy trails.

It depends on what's going on in our lives that would bring that on. We are the most beautiful creatures in the world and should always walk proud.
