Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.
But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.
If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.
The Good Person Test.
How will you do? Pass or fail?
Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?
Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?
Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?
Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?
See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?
If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.
Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.
The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.

After having contemplated this question for some lengthy seconds, i'd could say "no". The Slavonic language replaced into fairly a lot a similar up till the 60's, and then they presented present day Ukrainian and translated it to English, yet truly, the Liturgy textual content is an same because it replaced into in 988 (even as my united states of starting place grew to develop into Catholic) and the Liturgy they took it from replaced right into a similar Liturgy that replaced into in use with assistance from the first Christians in Antioch, and in spite of if some parts were bumped off because they were repetitious, i imagine that truly, the alteration, if any, has been streamlining....in spite of if i imagine this reflects the "urbaness" of society immediately as adverse to the rural society in which it replaced into born. i think very appropriate to my ancestors and those first Christians who've gone formerly me. @Kristin: I had a imaginative and prescient once about being a killer answerer!!

In general, I have a negative impression. For the most part, people who advertise that they are Christian belittle others for their faith and try to bully people with threats of Hell. Those who don't advertise it, tend to think of the world in terms of sin and goddness and see everyone else as sin. I have met some really nice folks who are trying to be kind and sweet and don't really care what someone else thinks or believes, they are comfortable in themselves and their belief and it shows. These people give a good impression of Christianity but, sadly, they are too much the minority.

The Christian religion is in a constant process of saving people. Some of these people have hit rock bottom in their lives and now are seeing a new life for the first time. many become over enthusiastic in their belief and scare others away. it's time for a lot of Christians to GROW UP.

Well, i was a christian before i converted to Islam, and to be honest they were very disrespectful when I converted to Islam...but hey...but i will say that people make the religion, and the religion makes the people. Simple as that, but i wish that would become more undertanding of other people's beliefs, not just think that they run the world.

My most positive impressions come from the people I work with at our food pantry. They truly care about what we are doing and they radiate God’s love.
The most negative impressions come from those who go around saying that people are going to hell unless they agree with THEIR views. THEIR views, you understand, not necessarily the teachings of Christ. Also, those that make the lives of gay people miserable, and say "love the sinner hate the sin", which they clearly don’t put into practice. Those who refuse to really study scripture so accept literal meanings no matter how absurd or how much word meanings have changed over the centuries. Those who teach children to be scared of God, instead of teaching God’s love. Those who bash other religions and cultures.
And of course those who are threatened by our understanding of science. If you stop to consider how magnificent the human brain actually is, and you recognize it as the handiwork of God, why wouldn’t it follow that God wants us to use it to learn all that we can about our planet and ourselves?

From its own side, there is nothing wrong at all with Christianity. For followers of this faith, they should feel compelled to live as Jesus lived, to be Christ, in other words. This is a point sorely missed by many who would scream they are his followers.

Christian evangelicals and their dogma I regard with contempt but ordinary Christians who have common sense beliefs I don't have a problem with.
