I would say...
Winning someone's heart is an individual thing...
Sometimes you can try your best and still be at a loss. And sometimes, without trying, you have it all. So be yourself I'd say. But some components that come to mind are...
1. Being there for the person no matter what - being encouraging and supportive.
2. Being trustworthy & sincere.
3. Accepting them as they are but knowing when to help them grow/motivate them at times too.
And humor (making them laugh) definitely helps :).

My boyfriends sometimes-hurtful-sense of humur won my heart.......i love that little pakistani SEXY heart-winner, havent seen him in a long while, and by the way my pakistani prince is real unlike that REVEREND guys "indian Princess" shes not real !!
