I have zero knowledge about making videos. That being said, my interest is to make some videos about Animal cruelty with video clips, NOT STILLS and background music. Very simple stuff. Is this possible with Windows Movie Maker? If not, what programs will do this? Please help!!! Thank you in advance for your help!!! ^_^

LOL, very funny. Let's spare scaring an innocent doggie! I don't have a video camera though. The footage floating around on the internet is all I'd ever need...now off to figure WMM out...! Thank you for your answers!!!

William, how do I get the clips to be the length I want? Like, I don't want the WHOLE video in every little box, only a few seconds of each video I'm using, how do I crop them or whatever?

If you have Windows XP, you should have Windows Movie Maker 2 (Windows XP only). Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, Windows Movie Maker. If you don’t find it, you can download it from Microsoft's Web site (www.microsoft.com). Microsoft’s Web site offers a number of tutorials.
You can assemble clips using the storyboard view. This allows you to drag and drop clips into little boxes at the bottom of your screen (you can change the order of these boxes, too). When you find the order you like, you can add over 50 transitions (fades, dissolves, wipes, etc.) that will link your clips together.
Video effects will slow down, speed up or blur your video. There’s even an effect that can turn portions of your video into a watercolor painting.
The timeline view allows you to add music, titles or narration.

I messed around with some equipment before, but I justrecorded with a video camera, then did a voice over and then edited with a video machine at my local access network, that was free, CAN-TV in Chicago,
If you like, I will act out beating up my girlfriend's dog, which hates me and poops all over my house,
