Did he clean her head with a specific lice shampoo or with regular shampoo?
Lice actually prefer clean hair over dirty hair so washing with shampoo may not do anything. You need to purchase a lice shampoo & treat her with that. You can find lice shampoos at your local drug store.

If you have a chance try to check her head for anything. Just try not to look as though you care weither or not she has them.
They could be back, make sure she combs her hair every day with the special comb so anything living on her head will be removed. Also try to change her pillow case every so often, and you might want to buy an odourless pesticide and spray her belongings.
Lice perfer clean hair over dirty hair and the only way to get rid of them for sure is using the special shampoo that can be purchased at a local drug store or pharmacy.

Lice is very difficult to get rid of and easily passed along to others...Have her use the lice formula again and I suggest that as a precaution you use it too...If she feels something on her head chances are they are still hatching...the nits or eggs are the hardest to get rid of, also use the spray that is out to disenfect and kill any that might be on furniture , pillows and carpets . You can pick up the spray at pharmacies. Keep re-checking for a couple weeks. Wash all sheets in HOT water. Good luck.

Oops! that's nasty!
anyway, it happens all the time...
there are special treatment for such cases, you can go to a pharmacy and grab a bottle of lice illuminating product.
or, you can do it naturally by using diluted apple vineger( 2 big table spoons in a glass of water), because vineger provides an acidic medium which kills this kind of creatures.
and here is one more tip, it might sound really awful, but it's for the best after all...use gasoline! just put a little gasoline on your finger tip and scrub your head...just a little! but then she has to take a quite good bath to remove the smell, but it really works!

You, or your father should check your sister's head again to make sure that all the lice is gone. If the lice still thrives, I would suggest putting mayonnaise in her hair. It suffocates the lice and kills them. Take extra precautions and wash all the sheets, blankets and pillow cases to make sure the lice is not lingering somewhere.

They could be back. Someone must do a thorough check of her head, perhaps with a dense comb, and repeat the treatment with a shampoo that kills them. I don't know how your dad cleaned her head, but they lay eggs, unless he used a proper medical shampoo perhaps there are still some left-or eggs hatched.

Even though her head was cleaned they is a chance they are still there. You need to make sure that you clean everything.. Clothes.. brushes ( best bet to throw away brush and buy a new one) sheets, stuff like that. You also have to reaply the cleaning shampoo 2 weeks later.
