There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

The first answer was the best, harsh, honest, and the truth.
But I would like to tell you that fresh cucumbers placed under the eye for a little while will most definately reduce any bagginess. My producer on a bunch of commercial videos MADE me do this when I stayed with them and it made all the difference, I looked like 14 years old. For the darkness, try a skin lightener product? Combine with some sort of 15-40 dollar under-eye product and you should notice results.

Try Hylexin. Its made especially for and only for serious dark under eye circles. It really works. Also you could try a makeup...
If you look at my picture can you tell i have any flaws? Underneath that makeup I have the most hideous DEEP scars from acne. . I use a makeup called DERMABLEND. You buy the makeup (variety of shades) you can buy a dark and one light to mix together to find your shade, that's what I do.. then you buy the setting powder which is necessary to use after the makeup. Its very easy to apply, just apply on your face, use the setting powder and brush off. Its simply just wonderful. Just try it, i know you will love it. It covers anything from acne, scars, blemishes, stretchmarks, discoloration, pigmentation, birthmarks, even tattoos, and more. Stays on up to 16 hours. Give it try. Its not just makeup, its leg and body cover as well. :-)Good Luck!

I get them when I haven't gotten an adequate amount of sleep. Once I do, the circles go away. If that doesn't work for you, Cover Girl (others too) make a concealer that comes in a tube, to match your skin tone, & masks those dark circles. Try to find a color that best matches your skin tone or it won't look right. Good luck!

Don't bother with skin lighteners because its whats underneath your skin that is dark. Its not like a freckle. But, some argue that these can "train" your body to not produce these pigments, and thats great if you plan on using this stuff for years, but thats not always realistic. First, you need to determine the cause. Is it allergy related, is it age? Your best course of action might be to see a dermotologist. He might perscribe a cream or do some procedure to help. Otherwise, concealor baby! It good stuff.

I have the same problem.

A quick fix until you get some good stuff like Youthology, is sudden change under eye serum mixed with Mabyeline's instant age rewind concealer or Rimmel Londons hide the blemish concealer.

Also another good concealer is DermaBlend.

try Artistry Eye Replenishing Cream. It's a little pricier than some other products but it's more than worth the money you pay because it gives you drastic results very very quickly.
