I don't know CA very well. Is HB well maintained, is it run down, what are the people there like? Nice beaches?

Money doesn't matter too much. We are only moving for the summer and my husbands company is paying for rent.

yep I live there.. Its a huge city and good good areas and run down areas. The closer you live to the beach the more $$ it will cost to live.. I live a few miles away and pay a decent amount of rent but about the same as anywhere in Orange County.
I am happy living in HB. The weather is awesome..
The beaches are the same as any SO CAL beaches.. Some times polluted sometimes awesome!!
Lots of activities down at the Pier.. All kinds of surf competitions and lots of fun times.. Weekends are packed with out of town visitors.. And kool bars downtown..

Well if they are paying-- get the biggest coolest house you can as close to the pier as you can...You will have a blast....If they question the expense just say "Well, that's California for ya"...Have fun..oh yeh, it is well maintained, not rundown, the people and the beaches are nice...remember "Well that's California for ya" Your in for a good time..

do no longer pass to the Olive backyard. it fairly is an extremely chain eating place. no longer something very specific approximately it or very stable. indexed right here are another techniques: Michael's on Naples = Naples portion of long coastline (from PCH turn left on 2d St and till now you get to Belmont Shore you pass by way of Naples) L'Opera on Pine & 1st St in downtown long coastline = verify the internet web page/comments first. This place is amazingly stable yet ought to be over your funds. Cafe Piccolo = suitable close to Broadway & Redondo in long coastline Domenico's = Belmont Shore, no longer as extreme end Spaghettini Grill & Jazz club = at Seal coastline Blvd & 405 Finbars = on PCH one block or so north of substantial St in Seal coastline have you ever been to Mahe's on PCH? that's not Italian, extra fish & steak. that's a lot of my pal's famous eating place.

It's a nice area. Not rich rich, but fairly affluent, clean community.

Depends who you are. In general yes. It is expensive though. It has one of the best beach in California.

The negative part is its one of the center of racism in Southern California. Neo-nazi groups and other White supremicist operate from there. People can be pretty superficial there too. It has improved, but there is a reason they picked orange county to make several reality shows showing superficiality. It's definetely not as bad as in the TV though.
