i just ate a banana and small thing of cottage cheese. how soon can i go workout on a treadmill? oh and what are some stretches before going on a treadmill or do you just do the stretches on it, like slow paced walking at first?

There is no rule about your question--it depends on how you feel. Period. Your body will digest it anyway, albeit a bit slower if you're working out.

As far as stretches, make sure you warm up your muslces before you stretch. (Your muscles can be likened to taffy--it it's warm taffy stretches easily; if it's cold, it's harder to stretch, and it can break, meaning you can hurt your muscles it you stretch "cold.") Try a fast walk on the treadmill for 5 - 10 minutes, doing a good stretch (all the muscle groups of your legs, including your feet and toes), and then doing your full workout.

All people are different some can workout right after eating and some can't you have to find out for yourself if you can or cannot eat right before... you can walk slow at first to warm up before you start running or do some stretching of your legs before you get on the treadmill but walking is a good stretch before running...

I would wait 1/2 hour, you didn't eat a heavy meal so its not so bad, do some leg stretches, toe touching butterfly stretch etc.

Well you want to eat ligh and eating what you described is perfect. You shouldnt have to wait to long. I would say 10 minutes.
