It is time for dogs to lose their wonter coats, she may just be molting. If she has bald patches though, take her to a vet as she could have a skin problem such as ring worm

It could be skin mites, skin allergies, mange, or food allergies. It's really hard to tell, unless you have her tested. The best thing to do, because she's only 6 months old, and her skin is real sensitive, it to have the vet test her. He/she is the only person that can tell you what the problem is, and find a solution for it. You might also want to try, washing her bedding, with a detergent, that has no dyes or perfumes in it. ALL Detergent has one. It comes in a white jug. Hope this helps! Good Luck! Hope your baby feels better soon! Poor thing must be so uncomfortable.

Could be fleas or lice ... check the back of her neck, the base of her tail & her ears for little black or white flecks that move. If the flecks are black or brown, it's fleas. If they're white, it could be lice. Either way, you're going to need a vet to diagnose the problem & prescribe treatment. She's obviously miserable, so do your little furry friend a favor and provide her with the same loving care as you would your child. By the way, my dog got lice just from playing with others in a park and by the time I'd spent hundreds of $$ over several weeks trying to clear it up with store-bought remedies, he was so unhappy that I took him to the vet. The vet's prescription cleared it up within a week!

She might have mites or skin rash or is allergic to something in the house, rugs, soaps? Vet can check allergies with tests.
I would take her to the vet immediately. Can't fool around with kittens and puppies. They're just too vulnerable.

sounds like an allergic reaction - either to food or something in her environment - if you changed something just before she started scratching so much and you can change it back, try that. If she keeps scratching, get her to the vet for some antihistamines or other meds and more recommendations.

my baby shih tzu had the same problem, it turned out she had a dander allergy, from her own skin!! my vet started her out on predisone for a couple of months (relatively inexpensive), and when that helped he switched her to atopica(40.00 for a one month supply) for a month. this completely cleared up her problem and she has had no skin issues for over a year!!! (and haven't had to keep her on any medication)
