Dude I understand your desire to go back and fight with your fellow marines but you have done your time, you have a girlfriend now that you love. You don't want to lose that. Stay with her and if you want to go back to the military join the Air Force. You won't have to worry about 18 month deployments with extenstions and you will spend much more time with your future wife. Good luck, and thank you for you serivce

A life in the military is something that comes first before wives and children. If you have a regular life then you can always quit or go home at the end of the day. For most being a solider/sailor is something that is in your blood. The first time you sign up you may not know what your getting yourself into but when you re-enlist then your heart belongs to the service you choose. Love is hard to find and you should embrace it and never let it go but will you be happy if you don't go back? It sounds like it's apart of your soul. Could this be something that makes you bitter and will get in between you two if you don't go? The real question is will she leave you if you go back or just be upset? What will you be able to live without if it comes down to it? There was someone who said that she was selfish but your girls not. It is very hard to love someone in the military. Your away a lot so it makes life a lot more difficult on the person left behind. Have you thought about working on base for an outside contractor? You could still be in things but not really in things. I know it's not the same but it might take some of the longing away for you. Thank you for all that you have already done. You have no idea how important you already have been and your only 20. Good luck to both you.

Your a marine. You were taught to think quickly and decisively. You served your time. Your friends will serve theirs and what will happen to them you can't control. Going back will not stop the war or stop your friends from getting injured. You sound likeyou feel guilty for being out. Take this happinesss.

she is being selfish to be honest, it's harsh, but lifeis harsh you know this. If she loves you she needs to be able to love you enough for you to do this I understand shes afraid, but its because of people like you were a free country without people like you we would be the torn country with what is going on here, its your job and because of people like you were all safe

Aren't there ways you can contribute to the military without physically fighting the war? You have to follow your heart in any case.

If she loves you, she will be here waiting for you. If not, get rid of her. You have your life too. And you are only 20, take your time.

Stay home. You have already been over in that sand pit. IF you love her then stay home and be with her. Find another hobby.
