Having a hangover is due to not having enough water in the body. Drinking alcohol drains sodium from your body. A typical hangover is caused, not by not drinking enough water, but by not having enough sodium to absorb that water. So, when you are hungover, your body craves sodium. Junk food has tons of sodium, both in the form of "table" salt and of preservatives.
