Im using Azureus as my bittorrent client, and its going painfully slow. Every movie file i download is going so slow i swear a snail can reach africa by the time its done! My download speed is hardly even reaching 5 kb/s. Its usually around 3 kb/s, no wait... Its usually AROUND 500 B/S!!! It wont even reach a kb! I have direct connection thingy to my router and i have the best settings possible. I have a great internet connection. My uncle and dad's computers have download speeds averaging 30-50 kb/s, but sometimes sky rockets to 80-100 for a minute or two. My computers on the floor in my house, my dads is in the basement, HOW can i get my azureus download speed to go faster? And its NOT the files either because i've tested with ALOT of movies and shows and none of it is better than the other. Though songs can easily reach 10 kb/s, i have limewire for that.

Right now, the speed is around... 5 b/s... Ok, now 300 b/s... Now 44 b/s... Not even reaching a kb!

Use BitComet instead. I had the same problem, some clients work best with some people, like my friend has Azureus that works perfect for him but not me for some reason....

Make sure that you set your upload allowance to like 100kb/s cause u can only download from someone else if you're one of their top uploaders. Like right now on a cable modem i'm downloading 3 different torrents with a total speed of around 80kb/s(very slow i've easily been over 100kb/s on one torrent and once i hit 890kb/s) but i'm uploading at over 200kb/s cause i set my upload limit at 1000kb/s, which can slow down my computer as well but i use bittorrent on a mac and its pretty good for me i didn't like azureus but everyone is different

most likely a firewall issue or yer ISP internet service provider is throttling the bandwidth

also if you are using a router make sure you add the ports you are using to it (make it a static port (this is for better security and reliable speed

the 1 and only torrent client you should use for the best speed and security is utorrent

Check your download limit in program preferences or start to use uTorrent program. Download page is http://download.utorrent.com/1.6.1/uTorrent-1.6.1-install.exe
