Yes, we are not saved by works according to man's righteousness.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
We are not saved by good works but saved to do good works -- obedience to His Word is essential but it is a RESULT of our faith and not, as some may claim, a means of working for your salvation.
We can never do anything to be worthy of God's free gift -- all we can do is accept it. But after accepting His gift, He also has set conditions for retaining His gift.
"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me...If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered: and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned...If you keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love: even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in His Love...Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends..."

For a serious answer Yes let me explain it in another way. Pretend you are 8-10 years old Your dad has told you that you are not to go to the mall by yourself. It is not that far away and you know that he will not be home for 2 hours and so you go. You meet two other friends and really lose track of time
meanwhile family is home, and you are not, calls to friends say not seen . your family is positive you have met with an accident or kidnapped. When you realize you are gone longer than you thought you take an extra hour to go home.
Now the grace part your dad is furious with you because you disobeyed, but because you are safe he grabs you to hug you he cries a little and just keeps holding you. He does not punish you even though you deserve it. That is grace not because of anything you did to earn it but because of your Father's love. A gift of love instead of punishment

Because you have sinned, there is no way we can enter heaven. The way we can enter heaven is by Jesus dieing on the cross. Only the bank can forgive a loan and only God himself can forgive sins so Jesus had to die. Living a good life does not get you into heaven because sin is not the rude things we do to people, sin is the disobedience to God. We deserve nothing less than complete destruction, but luckily life is not fair and the grace of God through Lord Jesus Christ saves us all if you follow him and do his will. (See Matthew 5-7).
Do I understand the grace of God? Only the smallest fraction enough to know that I am saved and one of God's sons. Otherwise there is no way to understand the grace of God and we will be attempting to understand it our lives here and in the next. Holy Holy Holy is the Lord Almighty!

Today many people are born and simultaneously many people die. People keep coming and going onto this earth. The life that we live on this earth, even if it is for a short time it is only by the "Grace of God".
God is mercy and have shown undeserved kindness for the mankind, in that he gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ as a ransom sacrifice for many. (John 3:16) That shows the Grace of God.
To illustrate, he supported number of "Jehovah's Witnesses" who were persecuted in so many countries during so many warfare during the World wars. He helped them to endure the persecution and made them feel happy even during their last days.
As it is said in 2Peter1:5-7, Supply to your faith, virtue and to your virtue, knowledge and to your knowledge, self-control and to your self-control, endurance and to your endurance, Godly devotion and to your Godly devotion, Brotherly affection and to your brotherly affection, LOVE and "God is Love" (1 John 4:8).
So what is said in Ephesians 2:8 about the Grace of God denotes that in this sinful world, where imperfect human kind is living with unrighteousness among them and living in the critical last days, we are saved if we place our faith in God and receive his Grace, a gift from above.

Grace - Unmerited favor. Amazing Grace.
Thank you Lord.
Luke 2:40 - And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
Acts 11:23 - Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
Acts 13:43 - Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
Acts 14:26 - And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
Acts 15:40 - And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
Acts 20:24 - But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Romans 5:15 - But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
1 Corinthians 1:4 - I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
1 Corinthians 3:10 - According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Yes... We gain access to God through grace we found in Christ Jesus and that we live by that very same faith through we we were saved to surrender our will to His love which so often is the struggle we often face with ourselves. We rather deny that there is a God for the matter, attributing Holiness to our 'believe' of unbelief to justify living onto ourselves as overgrown apes through the process of evolution than accepting Him as Lord and savior. and because we chose to give ourselves to our sin, we inherit eternal damnation but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.

We were given Free Will by God and it is by His grace, which we must ask for because He will not force it on us due to our free will, we are saved. That is the essence of faith.
Makes a lot of sense to me by the grace of God.
Ask for understanding of these things, listen, and He will give it to you.

Jesus said "Not everyone that saith unto me 'Lord Lord' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven."
Of course, the Baptists have a better idea. If you kneel at the preacher's altar and do the special incantation and say 'Lord Lord' you will be saved. Better yet you can still sin. I vote for the Baptists.

Yes, I do. We are saved because God wants us to be saved. We haven't earned it, salvation is a gift and by the grace of God it is free to anyone who wants it.
